Instilling in your children good habits for the school year include time management as well as learning to make wise decisions. Review these areas every few days until they are working for your family.

Routines
How are you doing with respect to getting out the door on time, working homework schedules around family chores, weekday bedtimes, and lunch preparation?
Lists and schedules
Are your children getting to school with all the appropriate things?
Bedtime
Are they easy to get up in the morning, ready to leave on time? If not, get them to bed earlier. If they complain, tell them bedtime is as early as necessary to ensure they get up in the morning in a good mood and ready to leave on time without any hassles.
Nutritious breakfast.
Being ready for school includes a sit-down breakfast that is relaxing and not hurried. If you allow them to eat breakfast in the car on the way to school they will be arriving here already feeling rushed and you will feel the same way.
