“For He (Who is the source of their prophesying) is not a God of confusion and disorder but of peace and order. 1 Corinthians 14:33a
Get rid of distractions! We cannot quiet our minds enough to stay close to God when we are distracted by daily unimportant mind chatter. Some call it “monkey mind,” Taking control of our chaotic thought-life must be a priority in order to allow our natural spiritual brilliance to shine in the present moment. The battle is in the mind. The opposite of order is disorder, upheaval and chaos! Not a pleasant state to be in! But how many of us live in a constant state of chaos, und disorder.
Why should I be organized? 1 Corinthians 14:40 says “Let all things be done decently and in order”
Is that a suggestion or a command from the Lord? A place for everything and everything in its place. Dr. Mark T Barclay tells us that family search parties are no fun at all. Family search parties are not fun! It’s more than a place for your bible, note paper, confessions, etc. It refers to every area in our life. Work, play and home.
The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.
Proverbs 13:4
Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest. How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep? Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man.
Proverbs 6: 6-11
When our focus is diverted in many directions due to disorganization and clutter, we are cut off from our connection to the Holy Spirit. Holding on to unnecessary distractions hold us in “the past” and keep us from entering our future, our purpose and God’s plan for us.
When your life is free of clutter and distraction, you’re more likely to experience a clear mind — clear of fear, worry, guilt, resentment or jealousy. When your life is free of clutter it becomes much easier to fully experience and appreciate such spiritual qualities as: peace of mind, intuition, inner wisdom, gratitude and appreciation, joy, stillness, being in service, being fully conscious, open to receiving guidance from the Holy Spirit, living with compassion and generosity, and experiencing the ordinary as extraordinary. When chaos and clutter — inside and out— pull you off center, these spiritual qualities can be blocked from expressing through you.
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, I need your help… to see the clutter that occupies my mind, my soul and my spirit. Help me to identify clutter in my life and remove it to make more room for me to grow in You. Give me strength to clean my natural and spiritual house.
Thank You Lord
